Insurance and the coronavirus pandemic: from losses to technological advancement

Abstract: The object of the research in this article is the changes in the insurance market as a result of pandemic. It is examined how coronavirus has affected the insurance market, how it has influenced the financial performance of companies, changed the client base, and what improvements and innovations it has brought to the marketplace. On the one hand, such sectors as business and travel insurance suffered huge losses. But on the other hand, the coronavirus pandemic has become a condition to accelerated development of new technologies, such as the provision of remote services. This article provides an overview of examples of innovations in insurance that have been already implemented and were really useful during the pandemic or will be implemented in the near future.
Banking Ecosystem - Fashion Trend or Strategic Necessity?

Abstract: The article presents the results of testing the hypothesis that the creation of ecosystem models of banks is a fashionable trend, rather than a strategic need to attract and retain customers. The hypothesis was assessed by comparing banks' commission income before and after the introduction of ecosystems, as well as by analyzing the strategic goals of banks. The results of the analysis can be used to confirm the fact that the ecosystem is a strategic necessity for banks due to the slowdown in their growth.

Abstract: Fast food industry is one of the fastest developing in the world and it may be quite challenging to keep the pace on such a saturated market. Moreover, as Russian market can be considered as emerging, there are great opportunities for growth and development. This is why we would like to determine the Burger King’s place in the Russian market, define its main pricing strategies and contrast them to the ones of main competitors which are McDonald’s and KFC. Therefore, we shall determine the Burger King’s competitiveness.
