Abstract: The article presents theoretical aspects of risk management, the essence of risk, the main indicators that characterize the risk of the company. There were reviewed the case and was conducted the analysis of liquidity and financial stability of X5 Retail Group. The assessment was made by calculating and comparing financial indicators on the basis of the balance sheet for three years.

The example of the leading companies in the Russian telecommunications market reveals the competitive advantages that goodwill gives, in particular, the dependence of the market sector occupied by a mobile operator on the value of its goodwill is reflected.
