The process of combining the economies of the GDR and FRG after the fall of the Berlin Wall

Abstract: After the Second World War, as a result of providing external assistance to the completely destroyed Germany, the country was divided into 2 parts: FRG and GDR. This division greatly influenced the development of territories whose economies developed under the influence of the occupying victors. This article discusses how different during the second part of 20th century, both economically and socially, were the development of two parts of one country. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, a complex process of economic and psychological reunification of German territories began, which has not ended for more than 30 years.
